Frustration
I gained this week. It seems to happen every month, like clockwork, but not the same clockwork as the other thing that happens once a month. I Lose really big one week, then gain half of it back, then lose a little, then a little again, then big, then gain half of that back. I worried about this last week when I lost almost 5lbs. and it happened this morning when I gained about 3lbs of it back. So it leaves me to wonder, does it matter what I lose in a week, or overall?? I'm still done 42lbs. I'm still much more fit then I was even a week ago. I'm stronger, I'm faster, and I'm noticably healthier. I don't think a week is really enough time to always give you an accurate look at how you did. You can be holding onto sodium, you can could be holding onto waste (up to 15lbs of waste can be in your body at one time!), You gained muscle and didn't lose as much fat... all of these things go into telling how much "weight" you lost in a week... and I'm sorry but 7 day's for some people is not generally enough time to really tell you wether you were a success or failure that week. It is a trained notion we have from society. Even trainers on the Biggest Loser have said that they weigh every 9-11 days. So I have been thinking for the last couple of months... I think it might be better for my sanity to go to weighing once a month... just like I do measurements. I will continue to think on this to see if it will be the best choice for me and my weight loss. I hope that everyone reading this does not think me a failure, but can see within their own journey's the importance of staying positive, and to know that even if you feel you have done EVERYTHING you could do... if the scale say's you maintained, or gained just keep pushing. My plan for the week: Increase my cardio at least 45mins a day... lower my fat intake to 20g's a day, and eat as many fresh fruits and veggies I can. Tell me what your goals are... and how your going to commit keeping them??

I weigh in at least once a week just to keep myself in check. It helps to keep my accountable.
ReplyDeleteMy goal is to RUN the 8 mile :) What that means is starting out small and jogging every other morning this week. And I already wrote them in on my calendar :)
Alright girl... not sure I'll be running the 8 miles, my goal will be to not be the last one who finishes! :) ALSO... Mud Run... Talked to some people today and I think I'm gonna give it a shot... even if I am the last one to finish!!!
