Frustration
I gained this week. It seems to happen every month, like clockwork, but not the same clockwork as the other thing that happens once a month. I Lose really big one week, then gain half of it back, then lose a little, then a little again, then big, then gain half of that back. I worried about this last week when I lost almost 5lbs. and it happened this morning when I gained about 3lbs of it back. So it leaves me to wonder, does it matter what I lose in a week, or overall?? I'm still done 42lbs. I'm still much more fit then I was even a week ago. I'm stronger, I'm faster, and I'm noticably healthier. I don't think a week is really enough time to always give you an accurate look at how you did. You can be holding onto sodium, you can could be holding onto waste (up to 15lbs of waste can be in your body at one time!), You gained muscle and didn't lose as much fat... all of these things go into telling how much "weight" you lost in a week... and I'm sorry but 7 day's for some people is not generally enough time to really tell you wether you were a success or failure that week. It is a trained notion we have from society. Even trainers on the Biggest Loser have said that they weigh every 9-11 days. So I have been thinking for the last couple of months... I think it might be better for my sanity to go to weighing once a month... just like I do measurements. I will continue to think on this to see if it will be the best choice for me and my weight loss. I hope that everyone reading this does not think me a failure, but can see within their own journey's the importance of staying positive, and to know that even if you feel you have done EVERYTHING you could do... if the scale say's you maintained, or gained just keep pushing. My plan for the week: Increase my cardio at least 45mins a day... lower my fat intake to 20g's a day, and eat as many fresh fruits and veggies I can. Tell me what your goals are... and how your going to commit keeping them??

Training Session!
WOW so, today was a rough workout, but I feel WONDERFUL tonight!
Thalia just hired two new trainers, and as part of their job training, they have to observe so many hours of training, so I had two trainers plus Thalia tonight in my session. The guy boxed with me, and the girl did core work with me on top of what Thalia had me do. A normal session is 50 mins but really I had over an hour workout!
First off, for those of you who know what a bosu ball is (it's like a half ball, with a platform on one side) I did step ups on the platform side, with the ball side down on the floor. We call these steroid step-ups! They are CRAZY hard, and use MAJOR core balance. We have done these before, but always with a safety bar in front of me, in case I start to fall, and today we did them in the open with no bar, and doing curls with weights!
Then me and Thalia put a stretch band around my base, and I drug her across the room. I was running with her pulling me back, and me pulling her across the room! We have done this before too, but today she was pulling HARD!
Then for the core work that the new trainer did with me, we did lunges, with me holding a workout ball, twisting at the core, holding for two seconds, and coming back out of it, just to do it again 10 on each legs! Talk about burn in the thighs and ABS!
THEN... we did crunches on the ball, with a resistance band adding to the core workout.
Today was a hard workout, but I feel great! With my trainings this week, I've been sitting ALL day... my brain has been fried on overload of information, and it feels wonderful to have my body feel just as fried on physical overload! By the way, if you have never boxed before, it's a HUGE passion of mine, and normally I just throw bunches, but today, the new trainer, taught me actual boxing, and it was WONDERFUL... I had a blast and my heart rate was up, and I was sweating, had a GREAT workout with that! Today was a good day, but this week for some reason I have felt very "heavy" and not sure what that might mean for Saturday's workout... We shall see!!

Catching everyone up!

Before on the Left
Now on the Right
Hello Everyone!
So, a lot of you have been emailing and commenting asking me, "what are you doing to lose the weight?" So instead of answering the question's one at a time, I decided to start blogging my progress. Who knows, maybe the struggles I go through will be struggles you have or will face yourself. If there is anything I can do to make your journey better I'm glad to do it! So here is a quick catch up of the last 6 months.
January: starting weight-330lbs.
I lightly worked out and watched what I ate for the next few months and lost about 8lbs.
I then made the decision to hire a personal trainer, which was one of the best decision's I EVER made. Her name is Thalia Toler, she is the fitness manager at 24 hour fitness in Bedford and is a master trainer. She is absolutely wonderful! She pushes me and challenges me in ways I can not even describe!
Starting weight with Thalia: 322.8
I have been working out once a week with Thalia, plus another 5-6 days on my own. I have been logging everything I eat, and watching my fat/protein/carb intake, and making sure I make the best choices for my body. Since starting with Thalia I am down 38lbs. for a total of 45lbs lost since January.
Current weight: 285.2lbs
Well, I can't promise I'll always be good at this, and I can't promise I'll lose every week, or lose big ever week... but I can say that I'm very passionate about what I'm doing, and what I want for my life. Please feel free to comment, ask questions or give me your imput... I'd be happy to share the knowledge I have gained. :) Good luck with the weight loss, and getting healthy! Life is wonderful, and working out and eating healthy is not about getting skinny and looking cute (though that's a plus) It is about having a healthy lifestyle, and being healthy!!
